RCS is supposed to replace SMS, but it doesn’t meet all of the requirements. How to fix Google chat messaging problems Currently, the service may cause disconnection, failure to connect, or other issues.
I recently faced such an issue. During the four days, I had difficulty accessing RCS. I found a variety of fixes. Also, I tried several others as well as Google Pixel support.
There is only the nuclear option of rebooting the server for RCS/Google Chat to work. The first thing we should do is see how Google Chat features are currently functioning.
Android Connection Status Check
An excellent place to begin if you’re experiencing problems sending messages on your phone is to see how well the Chat feature is working.
- First, open the Messages app to see if Chat is connected.
- You can tap the three dots located in the upper right corner.
- You can adjust your settings by clicking “Settings.”
- Choose Chat features in the Settings menu.
- You can use your device once it is connected. Messages may be malfunctioning due to another reason.
- However, if it is not connected, then troubleshooting must begin. It’s best to start with this menu.

First Option: Toggle Chat Features And Restart
- Click “Enable chat features” in that same Chat feature menu to disable it.
- Disable your phone and restart it.
- Select Restart by long-pressing the power button.
- Follow the instructions above to reassess Chat Features once it boots up.
- You should set the toggle and turn on the chat feature next to Enable chat features.
- Lucky for us, that worked. If not, continue reading.
Option 2: Delete All Messages From The Storage
- The Quick Settings menu will appear when you pull down the notifications bar.
- Press the button to select Airplane Mode.
- It is important to note that this will disable all wireless connections, including Bluetooth and mobile data.
- The Settings menu access by clicking the gear icon.
- From this menu, select Apps and Notifications.
- The most recent version of Messages should be at the top. If not, tap “See all apps.”
- After scrolling through all applications, look for Messages until you see them.
- Open “Storage and cache.” Tap it once.
- You can also clear your storage by tapping the “Clear Storage” button.
You can then recheck your Chat status by disabling Airplane Mode, restarting your phone, and checking again. Congratulations! It has connected, and you are ready to go. We will try again if need be.
Clear Storage For Carrier Services: Option Three
- Activate the Airplane Mode once again.
- The Settings menu can be found there.
- Then select Applications and Notifications.
- Select “See all apps” from the list.
- A tap on the three dots will provide more options. This setting allows the menu to display the installed apps and the proprietary system applications, such as the one we are looking for.
- Go to Carrier Services and scroll down.
- Select “Storage and cache” from this entry.
- “Clear storage” will appear.
Reset The Network Options: Option Four
I think we’re getting a bit desperate by now. You will lose all of your wireless connections, including:
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Mobile data
When you reset your network settings, you will need to set everything up from scratch, which can be tedious if it solves your RCS issues.
- Choose Settings as your first step.
- Tap into the “System” entry after scrolling down the screen.
- In the Advanced menu, tap “Reset options” to close the menu.
- Choose the first option, Reset mobile data, WiFi, Bluetooth, and your camera.
- You will receive a warning to let you know that erasing all the network settings is a necessary evil. Reset the settings by tapping the “Reset settings” button.
- Your security information will be requested after you submit your pattern, pin, or password. You can now tap on Reset Settings and cross your fingers.
- After that, you will need to set up your Bluetooth and WiFi. Recheck the Chat status in Messages first.
