Purchasing an iPhone with iOS 14 or iOS 15 installed. In the settings submenu, you will find a feature named Headphone Safety. It is possible that this feature doesn’t work in your area.

Several Apple users are reporting difficulties increasing the volume of their devices past a certain threshold since the launch of iOS 14 if you cannot turn off headphone safety or wish to view the details on how to do so.

Let’s say you have been exposed to loud audio for a long period of time. Apple’s Headphone Safety feature notifies you and automatically reduces the volume.

Though you can adjust the Headphone Safety feature, its inconvenient and irritating nature can make it challenging to use. The most obvious example is when using Bluetooth speakers rather than headphones to listen to music.

How To Turn Off The Headphone Safety Setting

Experiencing loud music over time can lead to hearing loss. Instead, use the Reducing Loud Sounds option to increase the decibel level. Your headphones set to 85 decibels by default, but you can set a different decibel level.

Changing the device type to a speaker recommended if you use external Bluetooth speakers. You can listen to music at higher levels without disabling Headphone Safety with both options.

If you want to disable Headphone Safety, first follow the steps below:

  • Next, click on the Settings tab
  • Haptics and Tap Sounds
  • To turn on Headphone Safety, tap it
  • Don’t receive notifications through your headphones

Some countries or regions in the world do not allow you to disable Headphone Safety notifications. The slider to turn off headphone notifications is available only on unlocked iPhones.

Depending on where you live, you may only be able to turn them off by changing the Bluetooth device type. Notifications will no longer received and volume will not automatically decrease when switching from headphones to other devices.

How To Change The Bluetooth Device Type

  1. To access your settings, click your home screen.
  2. Select Bluetooth from the menu.
  3. You can change the device information by clicking the “I” icon.
  4. Select the type of device.
  5. Go to the menu and select the device. You have the following options:
    • Stereo in the car
    • Using headphones
    • Providing hearing aids
    • The speaker
    • Various other

How to Enable or Disable Reduce Loud Noise on iPhone

Reduce Loud Sounds may be a more appropriate choice than Turn Off Headphone Safety. You can set the decibel level you want to hear at when enabled. In addition, you can compare decibel levels by using this setting.

Depending on the decibel level, you may limit a vacuum cleaner to a low level or an ambulance siren to a high level. If you enable these settings, you may receive fewer Headphone Safety notifications.

  • First open the Settings tab
  • Hepatic and tapping sounds
  • The Headphone Safety option will then be available
  • Reduce Loud Sounds can enabled or disabled by swiping the button

How To Stop Your iPhone From Silencing Calls

Incoming phone calls on their iPhones diverted straight to voicemail when they silenced. Several solutions may be available if you are certain Do Not Disturb is off.

The first thing you need to do verify that Call Forwarding is not enabled and that Silence Unknown Callers is disabled. They are both available here:

  1. Navigate to Settings
  2. Press the phone button
  3. You can disable this feature by scrolling down
  4. Likewise, silent Unknown Callers can disabled by scrolling down

Activating Silence Unknown Callers will divert calls from an unknown number, including telemarketers and scammers, to voicemail. Keeping this option disabled is probably the best option if you receive a legitimate unknown number call.
